Spirit of Wisdom & Revelation

We worshipped with a new song this morning…

In Your everlasting arms
All the pieces of my life
From beginning to the end
I can trust You
In Your never failing love
You work everything for good
God whatever comes my way
I will trust You

Psalms 37 : 4-5
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD trust also in him and he shall bring [it] to pass.

Apostle Paul’s Ministry was listed as #1 turning point in the history of mankind by a secular author.

2 Corinthians 12 : 1-2 4
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form and void and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
4 And God saw the light that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

2 Corinthians 5 : 17
17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away behold all things are become new.

The 4 gospels are records of what people saw of Christ but what Paul wrote is of Christ.

2 Corinthians 5 : 21
21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Ephesians 2 : 6
6 And hath raised [us] up together and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:

• Paul wrote all these letters when he was in prison but he emerged victorious and triumphant through his suffering!

Ephesians 1 : 17-23
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that ye may know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints
19 And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe according to the working of his mighty power
20 Which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places]
21 Far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all [things] under his feet and gave him [to be] the head over all [things] to the church
23 Which is his body the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

• Our vision must go beyond our life experiences our vision must be clear to see what God has done for us so that we can see the immensity of it all!
=> We must have the spirit of wisdom and revelation.

Paul prayed for us to have revelation in 3 areas:
(1) Calling
Ephesians 1 : 18
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that ye may know what is the hope of his calling…
• A natural vision will only satisfy your own ego BUT a redemptive vision will help you to fulfill His plans in your life.

Philippians 3 : 14
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
• Paul was in prison when he wrote this but he was pressing on for God

Galatians 2 : 20
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live yet not I but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
• We have a new identity in Christ the moment we receive Christ
=> God wipes away all our past records all our past sins.
=> We stay in Christ and so the devil will never be able to come and steal, kill or destroy us!

(2) Inheritance
Ephesians 1 : 18
18 … the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints
=> Equal position means equal possession

2 Corinthians 8 : 9
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he was rich yet for your sakes he became poor that ye through his poverty might be rich.
=> We are made rich in God’s poverty

(3) Authority
Ephesians 1 : 19
19 And what [is] the EXCEEDING greatness of his POWER toward us who believe according to the WORKING of his MIGHTY POWER
• Power = (Gr. dunamis) dynamic power
• Working = (Gr. energia) energy
• Mighty = (Gr. ischus) force
• Power = (Gr. kratos) strength
• Exceeding = (Gr. huperballo) throw beyond any limits

1 John 3 : 8
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Peter 3 : 10
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
• Destroy = liquidate, vaporize, extinguish

• Every breakthrough in faith is a breakthrough in revelation.

3 ways to have the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation:
(1) Repetition of the word
1 Corinthians 3 : 6
6 I have planted Apollos watered but God gave the increase.
• Planting = hearing the Word of God being preached
• Watering = hearing the Word of God over and over again
=> watering is the repetition process
• The key to increase is repetition!
• People reject the watering process which is essential for the increase!
• Even the 4 gospels are repeated and each time you read it you get revelation!

(2) Yieldedness to the Holy Spirit
• The Holy Spirit doesn’t speak to ‘smart people’ because they think they know everything.
• Go to the Holy Spirit like a little child go with child-like wonder and you’ll receive many things!

• Mountaineers who scale Mount Everest take at least 3 months to acclimatize to the thin air of the mountain so they need to move from one base camp of lower altitude to another in order to allow their body to produce more red blood cells. Eventually when they reach the base camp of the highest altitude they would have enough red blood cells to reach the peak of Mount Everest.
Psalms 24 : 3-5
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands and a pure heart who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
=> God wants us to rise in altitude to go closer to God

(3) Confession of the mouth
Philemon 1 : 6
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
• Acknowledging = believing and confessing

2 Corinthians 8 : 8-12 (KJV)
8 I speak not by commandment but by occasion of the forwardness of others and to prove the sincerity of your love.
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he was rich yet for your sakes he became poor that ye through his poverty might be rich.
10 And herein I give [my] advice: for this is expedient for you who have begun before not only to do but also to be forward a year ago.
11 Now therefore perform the doing [of it] that as [there was] a readiness to will so [there may be] a performance also out of that which ye have.
12 For if there be first a willing mind [it is] accepted according to that a man hath [and] not according to that he hath not.

2 Corinthians 8 : 8-12 (MSG)
8-9 I’m not trying to order you around against your will. But by bringing in the Macedonians’ enthusiasm as a stimulus to your love, I am hoping to bring the best out of you. You are familiar with the generosity of our Master, Jesus Christ. Rich as he was, he gave it all away for us—in one stroke he became poor and we became rich.
10-20 So here’s what I think: The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale. Your heart’s been in the right place all along. You’ve got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it. Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can, not what you can’t. The heart regulates the hands. This isn’t so others can take it easy while you sweat it out. No, you’re shoulder to shoulder with them all the way, your surplus matching their deficit, their surplus matching your deficit. In the end you come out even.
=> We need to complete what we started see it from beginning to end in order to have revelation of God’s plans for our lives.

Ephesians 5 : 1-2
1 Be ye therefore followers of God as dear children
2 And walk in love as Christ also hath loved us and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
=> Jesus gave His life in faith in God in commitment to His Heavenly Father and to men.

Philippians 4 : 18-19
18 But I have all and abound: I am full having received of Epaphroditus the things [which were sent] from you an odour of a sweet smell a sacrifice acceptable wellpleasing to God.
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Sovereign in the mountain air
Sovereign on the ocean floor
With me in the calm
With me in the storm

Sovereign in my greatest joy
Soverign in my deepest cry
With me in the dark
With me at the dawn

In your everlasting arms
All the pieces of my life
From beginning to the end
I can trust you

In your never failing love
You work everything for good
God whatever comes my way
I will trust you

All my hopes
All I need
Held in your hands

All my life
All of me
Held in your hands

All my fears
All my dreams
Held in your hands

The lyrics of the song really touched me.
Hubby, all our hopes, all our needs, all our lives, all of us, all our fears, all our dreams are in God’s hands…
He provided the impossible for us through our wedding preparations, I believe He will be with us in our marriage!
Let’s continue to trust in God that everything will work out according to His plans for our lives! 😀
