After D got his haircut done at Bare Bones Barber Shop, we headed to The Little Larder for an early birthday celebration because we wouldn’t quite be able to celebrate our actual days together-together (since D would still be mugging for his exams and J’s family would be here travelling!).
The Little Larder is a pretty tiny shop located in the intersection of Moray Street and Barker Street:
Its brightly-coloured interior design brightened our Friday!
The coffee was the usual cuppa, nothing spectacular.
The food, however, was mind-blowing!
D’s ‘Larder Big Breakfast’ – scrambled eggs with smoked salmon (changed from bacon), sausage, roasted tomato, grilled mushroom, potato cake, spinach, tomato relish and toast ($21):
The potato cake was absolutely tasty:
J’s ‘Bushmans Benny’ – poached eggs, hollandaise, spinach and slow cooked pulled pork shoulder ($20):
The slow cooked pulled pork shoulder was a little spicy but very tender and juicy:
Despite some bad reviews about their poor service, we were quite pleased with how quickly we were served as well as how jovial/humourous the staff were.
Our brunch was absolutely worth it for not only the serving portion but also the quality of food.
Of course, we’ll be back. 😉
