It’s the start of a long weekend and so we decided to take a trip (which we now call “Fair Enough (Road) Trip” because of how the guys keep going “Fair enough” whenever something’s said) to Gold Coast.
We jumpstarted the trip with breakfast at Elk Espresso @ Broadbeach:
J has been thinking about their ‘Peanut Butter Chocolate Thickshake’!
We planned to do quite a bit of driving but don’t wish to drive up and down Brisbane, hence we decided to get 2 nights’ accommodation at a Bed & Breakfast.
The photos of Sharyn and John’s B&B had us looking forward to the trip and we were blown away by the place (and their hospitality) when we arrived!
Located on 172 Morala Ave, Runaway Bay, QLD 4216, their exterior doesn’t look like it’s going to be the entrance to paradise but just wait and see…
Beachy entrance once we step in…
They’ve got a garage for 1 of 2 cars, and 2 more “open” parking spaces:
Our living room for 3 days!
We’ve got 3 bedrooms to share among 5 of us:
This is the view from our “bedroom”:
Wouldn’t life seem more beautiful when you wake up to such a view?
Or how about enjoying your cuppa with sun in your face and wind in your hair? 😉
The pool beckoned to us and though it’s winter, we were contemplating a swim…
Or maybe we’ll just relax on the sun loungers? 😛
This looks like a good place for us to have our meals, mainly breakfast and our barbecue dinner…
This place is reeeeeeeally beautiful and perfect as a “retirement home”! We’ll have to work really hard to own such a place in future…
Alicia and Eng Seng on the sun chairs – with so many seats around, we can be assured our bums would have a spot! 😉
Kevin’s enjoying some peace and quiet…
Besides waking up to such spectacular view, this B&B is conveniently located, with a mall right across the street where you can do some shopping or grab some food:
Soon it started drizzling so we had to take cover in the house while getting ready for our barbie, and then rainbows welcomed us to Runaway Bay!
A rainbow to start their SWOTVAC is a reminder that there will always be something beautiful birthed from a storm… 😉
This was taken just before it started raining…
We’ll always have each other 😀
Everyone got busy getting ready for our barbie:
It’s not a big kitchen but it’s good enough for basic use.
Night soon fell and it’s time for us to head down for an evening of dining by the bay 🙂
John was helpful in getting the pit ready for us to use (after the passing shower) and we’re all good to start the barbecue! 😀
These 2 files – ‘Places to Visit’ and ‘Local Restaurants’ – came in handy as we firmed up our plans for the next 2 days.
Sharyn and John extended such a warm welcome and great hospitality to us that we felt happy staying there 🙂 It’s our first time staying at a B&B, so we’re not sure if all B&B are like that but they have set a really high standard for all B&B! 😉
We hope you’ll enjoy your stay as much as we did 🙂
